DIDJ NUMBER - 500

This is an absolute BEAST! This log has sat on my porch for many years, too big and too heavy to ever grab up before for any other project but with #500 looming I knew exactly which log was to undergo the transformation. I wanted to do something fantastic, and something slightly outside my normal production. I've played some giant tapers before and was surprised at the playful backpressure. When I shaped this down I figured it was either going to be totally awesome or totally suck. Not much room for middle ground. If it sucked it would've gone straight to the burn pile which means... AWESOME!!!!! The volume on this didgeridoo is insane. Even just the feeling you get by being in it's presence. It's like a volcano waiting to explode. Matching trumpet with a nice sucession. Sensitive to pressure changes which gives it fun harmonic qualities for such a foghorn. Incredible at percussive styles. Tipping the scale at about 18 pounds I think this is probably the heaviest didge I've ever made. It's more didge than didge. It's practically a trophy wife.
