DIDJ NUMBER - 502

This is the length and taper I have developed as my preferance over many years of crafting and playing. Fir doesn't normally fit the bill as a recommended wood to work with because the growth rings vary too much in density causing a finished project with ridges, but I've done my best as an artist to simply follow inspiration and let the logs themselves tell me which are to become didges and which are to be bucked for firewood. Fir has never let me down even once. I usually use fir for higher pitched pieces with big bells that give insanely unbalanced overblowns which become a very special feature unlikely to be found anywhere else. This didge follows a more balanced plan though, and the overblowns and trumpets are well matched to the volume of the fundamental giving this instrument concert / recording quality sound and playability. Smooth as silk on the lips, to the ears, and on the eyes.
