DIDJ NUMBER - 351

Here's an all oil finished didj with no fills, nearly invisable seams, gorgeous fiddleback and spalting along with knots and figuring making this a very fine visual, tactile, and sonic example of broadleaf maple. The higher pitch is a result of it's shorter length rather than a pinched bore making the vocals and harmonics extremely rich. The overblowns are bright to the drone with a diaphram slap and well matched to the drone when pressuring up. I only get two trumpets easily but be honest, how often do you really use more than two trumpets on a higher pitched didj? The backpressure is ideal making this instrument very easy to play. It has a broad tonal spectrum. The volume can be loud enough to keep up at a drum jam or when played softly can be apartment friendly. It plays awesome either way. The conical bore gives it bouncy responsive characteristics yet the harmonics and broad tonal spectrum make me feel like I'd be selling it short if I were to call it a percussive stick. The bigger bell doesn't squash the high or mid range. The short length makes this a wise choice for foreign customers looking to take advantage of our weakend U.S. economy, as I'll cover the shipping on this one to just about anywhere, as I do with all domestic orders.
