DIDJ NUMBER - 350

My friend Damon and his son were over last weekend. I normally think of Damon as being an explosive player with an appreciation for high quality yidaki. With this didge being so low and comparitivly light I didn't expect him to really dig it when I handed it to him to try, but within seconds of first blowing it he had to stop to comment. His excitement built and built and I was extremely pleased to hear him decree that this is thee finest B didge he's ever come across. He was especially exhuberant about the harmonics and four very easy to hit trumpets. He liked the smell too as this is another stick finished exclusively with pure oils (tung, linseed, and citrus). I chose this as an oiled finish candidate because there are no checks or holes needing fills and as a result it comes across as being luxery high class. It's very easy to play, especially for a B. It'll play slow or fast and the vocals are particulary bright. The overblown comes easy and is well matched to the fundamental. The volume is lower than the biggish bell sugests and can still be considered to be apartment friendly. The walls are thick enough to really contain the power and deliver recording quality sound. I consider recording quality to be higher than concert quality, and I haven't made this recording quality claim before, but I have a feeling that these oiled bores that I'm still kind of experimenting with to bring me this kind of result on a frequent basis.
