DIDJ NUMBER - 346

Doubles offer opportunities that regular didges don't. In addition to the ability for two players to play it simultaneously, it can be played with the second mouthpiece covered or uncovered, resulting in a lower or higher pitched fundamental. With the second mouthpiece covered and as a two player instrument it's in the key of Bb. The two topends on this didgeridoo are shaped differently thus as a single player you can choose to play the tighter higher topend in Eb with a matching trumpet, or the more open bored spectacular vocal side which plays in D and has it's first trumpet in Eb. The backpressure is medium, as is common with an open bore or big bore, and so it requires a bit of chasing which might make breathing difficult for newer players during transitions from low and high fundamental notes. But a newer player can enjoy it as a didge that's essentially three in one and grow their skills to the ability of using those flanged notes properly. The sound is clear and well supported. When playing in an upper fundamental the open mouthpiece serves as a loudspeaker just 8 inches from your ear, or as a heart massager.
The alder is spectacular in appearance. It had shrunk down inside it's bark leaving tons of longitudinal indentations. I only had to work the outside for just the few inches leading to the mouthpiece so I barely sanded the stick, leaving the indented crevices darker as accents and the result speaks for itself.
this didges fundamentals are in Bb, D, and Eb
