DIDJ NUMBER - 345

This is pretty much my signature shaped bore and length, which is to say that this exemplifies the best of the qualities of the knowledge and crafting skills I've obtained thus far. I crafted this didjeridu with thin walls to increase it's reponsiveness and feedback to the player, much like the qualities one would enjoy in a well crafted agave. The alder walls give a deeper timbre and a better supported note than an agave would normally have, in my opinion. It handles power and explosiveness with tastey delight and loves to play fast. The bore is fairly open and clean and so there's no stuffiness to the backpressure, just straight ahead delivery. The mouthpiece is very comfortable and easily approachable with it's narrow outter diameter. The first trumpet matches the fundamental, which so many people love. The overblowns are well supported and well matched to the fundamental, making them easy to incorporate without driving my wife or my buddy Mike nuts. I just love to use that overblown diaphramatic slap in my playing and I don't mind when the overblowns shake stuff off of shelves and knock things off the walls but like I stated above, these overblowns are very likable and blend easily into fast percussive styles. Alder has a nice warm color and this piece has nearly invisable seams and no checks. Beautiful to look at and exciting to play. The responsiveness of this didj makes it an excellent teacher for players beginner through advanced. A bargain at this price.
Jake Duncan came over and we shot some sound sample videos for you to hear exactly what you'll sound like on my didges (if you've got mad talent and devote alot of time to practice). He also made off with that big belled G in trade for a short stack of his new CD 'Sound Triggers Memory' so I'll toss one in with each Jake sampled didge until the stack is gone. For individual copy's of his cd jump over to LAOutback.com and browse their music section.
