DIDJ NUMBER - 378
I like to offer a well rounded selection. I already dished out very high, so this is to bring in the bottom end. This low B is finished in oils inside and out which gives it a more organic (less harsh) sound than the epoxied bores offer. That combined with the mellow shaping, just a slight taper throughout the entire length, gives it a relaxed, well balanced, well behaved characteristic. It doesn't go just go off the handle, pulling a 'double maveric' offering up sounds and outbursts outta nowhere, it waits until it's told, then behaves exactly as instructed. It will play fast and crazy with easy trumpets if that's your deal, or it'll play slow and medatative with easily manipulated harmonics and excellent vocal projection, if that's more your bag. I like both and this is an excellent didge for someone who just wants to enjoy playing or who wants a good low didge for recording. Not really loud enough for a busking didge, but that makes it friendlier in most environments. I love the finish with pure oils of Tung, Linseed, and Citrus, a lower gloss and more tactile connection to the woodiness of the stick.
