DIDJ NUMBER - 12
I've picked up a few nice traditional instruments over the years. Some of them are at a closed down gallery show in California until this Corona Virus pandemic is over I suppose. The two Djalu's that are still here are making it onto the site just in case someone with funds value them as much as I do. This one is a shorter ripper of an E with all the best attributes you would expect from arguably one the best crafters on the planet with arguably the greatest collectable values attached to his work. I believe the top end has hairline cracks that've been covered up by tape, which is very common with traditional sticks. The tape on the bottom is not covering cracks, it was put there by the previous owner who thought that maybe he'd tape it all the way in Aboriginal colors, but then he never covered the center which I'm glad for because this didge has uncommon paint in that there's a 4 stripe design where Djalu would normally do 3 stripes. What does that mean? I dunno, but it's authentic Djalu, just some special edition. Plays excellent! Perfect tuning.
