DIDJ NUMBER - 610

The tuning is just above C# for me, though everything about it's playing characteristics are so perfect that I don't dare go adjusting things. It has a perfect balance between powerful projection and a softness to the voice at the same time. I blame it on the Alder for the awesome softness of voice, and the wall thickness in the bottom end for the depth of support to the tone. Alder has taught me a lot about crafting for the human heart as well as for the ear. Thank you Alder. Even though C# is kind of a low note this didge takes it deeper. The sound has so much support that it seems as if it's coming from far away, thus being bigger than life, and more powerful than imagination. Even fast percussive stuff which it loves feels as though it's being launched by huge cannons on a faraway ridge. Diaphragm pushes turn easily into overblowns which can be raked back and forth in beautiful style. Love it! The vocals have an up front projection, and there's a lot of room within the drone to play with harmonic balances. The first trumpet is so easily worked into compositions that it brings me back to Ed Drury's advice on just barely tapping tup and then dropping back to the drone, over and over to get those trumpeting skills down right. Here's your teacher if you don't have Mr. Drury and another very good didge available. AUM.
