I'm always so surprised when I pick up a big bore didj that plays great. I just never ever make big bore topends but I try to push myself to explore in that direction for the clarity and precise definition they offer. This didj is by no means a big bore topend but it's me working in that direction and it gives those type of results.
It's got higher backpressure thus making it easy to play and easy to register even the slightest pressure changes and tongued electronic flanges. The vocals are very clear and the balance is very nice making staccato flanged vocal harmonics so fun it'll probably become illegal. It has plenty of volume and responds equally as well if being played soft and quiet or being pushed hard and loud. The trumpet is bright to the drone and the overblown note is very stable and somewhat warm making it easy to incorporate into rhythms.
Oh ya, and it's beautiful. The carmel colored maple has a deep reflective texture like tigers eye with plenty of spaulting, fiddleback, and elegant artistic fill. If this were a car it would be a sports touring Bentley. Simple elegance. Precise. Responsive.
