I get so used to making giant outrageous didjes just because I can that it's often a joy to set out to create something modest. This size and shape is typical of what a re-seller in Japan is always after because great sounding lightweight hardwood didges are so much easier to port about than heavy eucalyptus didges. This one combines that portability with crisp clean sound like you usually only get with agave whilst at the same time the hardwood walls contain the power of the stick and you're vibrating an air column instead of the entire instrument, keeping the power focused. This babies got medium high backpressure with the emphasis more on medium. It's open bore gives superb vocalizations and it has excellent balance. It'll edge right up to and slip into the first trumpet without having to shift or pop it. It's mouthpiece is a bit on the open side and I can adjust that down if anyone prefers. I'd feel like I was sellin' cars in tv commercials if I were to say "How can such great sound quality fit in such a convenient package?". Well, to find out you gotta play it.
