DIDJ NUMBER - 138
This ia an agave cane crafted by Jason Strazzabosco that I took on trasde in. I don't normally take or sell other crafters work on my site but in this case I make an exception. Jason really set the bar on quality of workmanship and also developed a complex understanding of didge physics which he applied to making instruments which stood head and shoulders above his contemporaries. My reccomendations for agave crafters currently producing goes out to Geoff Frost and sometimes producing Jeff Lohr and Tyler Spencer. I don't work with agave because I live in the forest of the Pacific Northwest and am surrounded by ample supplies of local woods to work with.
A very notable feature of agave didges are that they are incredibly lightweight, and most frequently have thin walls which vibrate and feel very alive in your hands. They are very ideal for beginners because it tutors the learner with the amount of informative feedback it gives through the whole sonic and tactile experiance. I utilize thin walls in my top ends to capture this same type of responsiveness and sense of connection.
This instrument plays effortlessly, has a first trumpet that matches the drone, all the characteristics that make it awesome for percussive excitement and also does the harmonic airplane and vocals stuff nicely because of the clear open bore. I should also mention that his finishes are flawless and this instrument was very well cared for.
