DIDJ NUMBER - 552
This is a didge that's been out in the world 4 years already. It had been with a young kid whose sense of awareness was so easily recognizable through his focus on didgeridoo study. During his first visit to In-Didj-In-Us everybody learned his name and held him in high respect even though he was possibly still pre-teen? I'm sure most people would think some of the credit goes to his folks for being so obviously loving and supportive of their child. The reason I give you this bit of backstory is because this didge is loaded with mojo from the personal development journey of a spectacular person, whose admirably humble nature is further intrigue into the greatness of this soul. He traded it in for another of my sticks that he tried at In-Didj-In-Us this year and felt some inspiration from, carrying him on to his next story... When I play it, I can immediately feel it's punchiness, hear it's rich tone, and be lured into sonic textural exploration. The bands within the sound wave are all clear and defined, like a photo with more pixels. The Maple walls, thin near the mouthpiece, thick and supportive at the loud end, provides sound which feels expensive. Everything I ask it to do it does well, and stays easily within it's range. The mouthpiece is slightly wide at 1 3/8 inches, which allows for more articulation. I usually play mouthpieces a bit smaller but this is very easy for me to appreciate. It was already very well taken care of, the only refurbish I needed to do was fix the scratches from this photo shoot, which is a very easy process that you can do yourself, quickly and inexpensive, should you ever find yourself in that need.
