Don't miss the Jammin' Tree Didgeridoo Festival - the very NEXT weekend, only a day's drive (about 13 hours) away, near Yosemite, California!
Take I-5 South to Exit 228 - Hwy 34
Go West on Hwy 34 towards Corvallis
Make sure you stay on Hwy 34 (bears left) coming out of the town of Philomath
- this split is well marked, but strangely unexpected
Follow Hwy 34, to milepost 20 which is about half way between Alsea and Waldport
Take a Left on E. Five Rivers Road - this road is marked with a sign
Continue on E. Five Rivers Road for 15-16 miles.
Your final destination is just after 95508 E. Five Rivers Road, but don't you dare Yahoo, Gooble, or Mapquest the address as you will end up lost.
It's really as easy as turning onto E. Fiver Rivers Road from milepost 20 on Hwy 34 and going 15-16 miles
There will be signs out where you can pull into the parking field and / or continue to the camp loading zone
Please drive safely and slowly, the road is narrow (single lane), windy and possibly rough in spots.
There are a bunch of other people like you driving around there - if that helps put it in perspective.
There are no nearby gas stations so don't let your gas level get low thinking you'll pick some up either just before you get there or on your way out because rural in Oregon can be out there.

- Some people get confused around the 3 mile mark where the road has a couple of options to stay on E. Five Rivers Road, go over the bridge if you feel unlost, as I did, then you are probably fine
- One other thing to note, is that after mile marker 10 on E. Five Rivers Road, the markers start over again at 0, so you'll be looking for mile post 5 not 15
- As you proceed out the road, you will probably feel like you're really out in the middle of nowhere, that's okay, you are.
Trust the directions.
