DIDJ NUMBER - 572
This piece exhibits how highly refined gems can emerge from commonplace items. I used two old 2x4's and nailed 'em together for the rough aesthetic. Everything is sealed and smooth. There's no rough edges. Even though the lumber isn't sanded there's thick enough layers of clear coat which have been sanded so that the final clear satin finish is as high of quality as all my other didges. This is the first in a series of 12 that I'll make out of 2x4's. One in each tuned note. So the next will be a Bb, then a B, then a C....all the way to G#. 12 total. No two in the same key. A dozen nearly identical completely individual one of a kind artpieces. Performance artpieces. I'm quite surprised at how nice it plays. I can get a nice wet sound and fantastic vocals even though the bore never opens that huge. I made the top end a little more open than most of my sticks to help create the dynamic that a larger bell end normally adds. It's equally comfortable playing slow and harmonic or fast and percussive. The trumpets come easily enough and are well matched to the volume of the drone. Collect them all.
