DIDJ NUMBER - 561
This didge is like a pocket knife in that it's light, portable, well suited to a variety of tasks, and will become a constant companion. An F is usually considered a higher pitched instrument, however, this one's choice of alder for the wood and the careful shaping gives it a warmer tonality with balanced playing characteristics. By warmer I don't mean quiet or muffled, rather it simply means lacking the harsh qualities that plague so many higher pitched sticks, as well as just about any pitch of stick with too thin of walls. I'm amazed at how easily it plays softly and quietly, drawing me right in like an electro magnet paying attention to intricate details of basic technique. It easily ramps it up and delivers powerfull overblowns, clear vocals, well matched trumpets, dial-o-matic jawdrops and captivating harmonics. Normally I wouldn't suggest an F as someone's first or only didge but this truely is as close as it gets to filling that title. AUM.
