DIDJ NUMBER - 545
So easy it can be played by a ventriloquist. I almost said a dead guy, but there's got to be at least a tiny bit of lip tension so honestly that's just not possible. It's so comfortable and well behaved that you could literally play yourself to sleep at night rather than count sheep. Maybe we could rig up head gear for the sleep apnea crowd... or maybe I'll just leave the brainstorming, discovery and adventure to it's impending best friend. The balance makes it a dream to play at every level of attack. The straight delivery and very gradual conical shape to the bore gives the player every bit of control. Twisty sticks have no choice but to compress vocals. A straight delivery always offers the best control. Same with bore shapes. Think of the air columns movements as you would imagine water running in a creek, or through pipes. If there's an open chamber somewhere along the way or a narrowing down it will create a controlling characteristic that takes some amount of control away from the player and in some cases causes a stick to have a one-trick-pony kind of playing potential. Big flared bells which look so dramatic and awesome kind of diffuse the sound as they deliver it rather than give it out as a solid punch. Same with odd shaped cuts. The best is a straight clean cut. Big bells generally create too much bass, drowning out the intricacies of the mid and high range responses. Sometimes these rules have to broken in the name of art. This stick doesn't have to break any rules. It's built for pure performance, and the good looks are just genetic I suppose.
